Autumn | 2013, ongoing project

In Autumn, we generate a man-made season, a strip of an engineered autumn in nature. Every year the coloration of the leaves in a large population of genetically engineered trees will occur earlier than in the surrounding natural forest, which creates a strip of man made autumn in the still green natural landscape.
'Autumn' involves methods of plant engineering, using alterations of the genetic program of senescence.
Because of the dynamic relationship between nature and engineered nature, Autumn will be a long term, ongoing project with different results every year.
The project will be realized in cooperation with Stefan Jansson , Department of Genetics, University of Umeå, Sweden
